1. Scope

This policy applies to information collected through our website, website forms, analytics and advertising technologies, email marketing, and direct business communications. It does not apply to third-party websites or services that have their own privacy policies.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

When you submit a form, request information, subscribe to communications, or contact us, we may collect:

  • Your name, business email address, telephone number, company, job title, and website.
  • Your communication preferences.
  • The contents of your inquiry and any other information you choose to provide.

Information collected automatically

When you use the website, we and our technology providers may automatically collect:

  • Internet Protocol address and online identifiers, such as cookie or advertising identifiers.
  • Browser type, device type, operating system, language, screen size, and similar device information.
  • Pages viewed, referring and exit pages, dates and times, links clicked, form interactions, scrolling, and other website activity.
  • Approximate location inferred from an IP address. We do not use the public website to collect precise GPS location.
  • Advertising and campaign information, such as the advertisement, keyword, or campaign associated with a visit or inquiry.

Information from service providers and business sources

We may receive information from analytics, advertising, email, CRM, hosting, security, and automation providers. For example, we may receive campaign attribution, aggregated audience information, email engagement, form-delivery information, and reports about how visitors use the website. Advertising providers may generate interest or audience signals based on activity on this and other websites.

We do not intend to collect sensitive personal information, financial-account credentials, biometric information, or precise geolocation through the public website. Please do not submit sensitive or confidential information through a general contact form.

3. How we use information

We may use information to:

  • Respond to inquiries and evaluate potential engagements.
  • Provide requested information and manage business relationships.
  • Operate, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website.
  • Understand website traffic, content performance, and visitor experience.
  • Measure advertising performance and attribute inquiries to marketing campaigns.
  • Create and manage advertising audiences and deliver relevant marketing.
  • Send marketing communications where permitted and honor unsubscribe requests.
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
  • Comply with legal obligations and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

4. Analytics, advertising, and usability tools

We use cookies, pixels, scripts, and similar technologies. The principal tools currently used on the website are:

Provider How we use it Information involved
Google Analytics 4 Traffic measurement, acquisition reporting, content performance, and website improvement. IP-derived location, device/browser information, online identifiers, referral information, and website activity.
Google Tag Manager Deploys and manages website measurement and marketing tags. It does not maintain a separate visitor database for Compass Digital. Information handled by the tags deployed through it.
Google Ads and DoubleClick Conversion measurement, campaign attribution, advertising effectiveness, and remarketing. Online identifiers, device/browser information, page and ad interactions, and conversion events.
Meta Pixel Conversion measurement, campaign attribution, advertising effectiveness, and audience creation. Online identifiers, device/browser information, page and ad interactions, and conversion events.
Hotjar Heatmaps, session analysis, usability research, and identifying website friction. Pseudonymous usage data, device/browser information, clicks, scrolling, page movement, and similar interaction data.
ActiveCampaign Contact-form follow-up, CRM activity, email marketing, and email engagement. Contact information you provide, email engagement, and website activity that may be associated with a known contact.

These providers process information under their own terms and privacy documentation. You can learn more from Google, Meta, Hotjar, and ActiveCampaign.

5. How we disclose information

We may disclose information to the following categories of recipients when reasonably necessary for the purposes described above:

  • Hosting, security, and infrastructure providers that operate and protect the website.
  • Analytics and usability providers that help us understand and improve the website.
  • Advertising platforms and networks that measure campaigns, attribute conversions, build audiences, and deliver advertising.
  • Email, CRM, forms, and workflow providers that deliver inquiries, manage communications, and automate business processes.
  • Professional advisers and authorities when necessary for legal, accounting, security, or compliance purposes.
  • Parties to a business transaction in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of business assets.

6. Sale of information

Compass Digital does not sell personal information for money. As described above, advertising and analytics providers may receive online identifiers and website-interaction information for measurement, audience creation, remarketing, and related marketing purposes. We describe these practices so visitors can understand the technology used on the website and exercise the available browser and platform controls.

7. How long we retain information

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, subject to legal, security, accounting, and dispute-resolution needs.

Information Typical retention
Website inquiries and prospective-client records Up to 24 months after the last meaningful interaction, unless the relationship becomes an active client engagement or a longer period is reasonably necessary.
ActiveCampaign marketing contacts Until unsubscribe or deletion, or after 24 months of inactivity. We may retain a minimal suppression record to honor an unsubscribe request.
Google Analytics 4 user- and event-level data 14 months. Standard aggregated reports may remain available for longer periods.
Hotjar recordings and heatmaps No more than 12 months (365 days) from capture.
Google Ads and Meta advertising data Platform-level retention is controlled by the provider and applicable account settings. Compass Digital’s identifiable lead records follow the limits above; aggregated campaign reports may be retained longer for historical analysis.
Security and server logs Generally up to 12 months, or longer when reasonably necessary to investigate a security incident or comply with law.
Client contracts, invoices, and required business records For the relationship and up to seven years afterward where needed for accounting, disputes, or legal obligations.
Backups Until overwritten or deleted under our hosting provider’s rolling backup schedule.

We may retain aggregated or deidentified information that no longer reasonably identifies an individual for longer periods.

8. Your choices

  • Email: Use the unsubscribe link in a marketing email or contact us. We may still send non-promotional messages relating to an existing business relationship.
  • Browser controls: Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Blocking cookies may affect website functionality.
  • Google Analytics: Google offers an Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
  • Google advertising: Advertising preferences may be managed through Google My Ad Center.
  • Meta advertising: Advertising preferences may be managed through Meta Ad Preferences.
  • Hotjar: Hotjar provides information about its Do Not Track and opt-out controls.

You may also contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of information associated with you. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where reasonably necessary for legal, security, accounting, or contractual purposes.

9. California disclosures

For California visitors, the categories of personally identifiable information we collect are described in Section 2, and the categories of third parties with whom information may be disclosed are described in Sections 4 and 5.

Advertising, analytics, and usability providers may collect information about online activity over time and across different websites or services when their technologies are used. Their use of information is governed by their own privacy documentation and available controls.

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” setting. Because there is not a universally applied standard for interpreting the traditional DNT signal, our website does not currently respond to it as a separate instruction. You can use the browser, platform, and opt-out controls described in Section 8.

To review or request changes to information you have provided, email operations@getcompassdigital.com. If we materially change this policy, we will update the date at the top and may provide additional notice on the website where appropriate.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect personal information. No website, network, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

11. Children’s privacy

This website is intended for a general business audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that a child has submitted personal information, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our practices, technology, or legal obligations change. The “Last updated” date will identify the current version. Material changes may also be highlighted on the website.
